Rebeca Borges, (she/her) is a UC Berkeley alumni and former Berkeley Hope Scholar. Drawing upon her own journey as a beneficiary of the program, Rebeca brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by former foster youth and independent students in higher education.
With a passion for empowering students to overcome barriers, Rebeca has dedicated herself to increasing access to higher education and honed her skills in guiding students as a college counselor at a local high school. Beyond her professional commitments, Rebeca is a devoted caregiver to her grandmother and spends the free time she has curled up with her cats and a book.
As a proud UC Berkeley graduate, Rebeca is excited to return to her alma mater and contribute to the success of Berkeley Hope Scholars. Her personal experience, coupled with her professional expertise, position her as a valuable advocate for students striving to fulfill their academic potential.
