Bio/CV:
Alexis Wood is a PhD Student in the Department of Geography studying the intersections of fringe political movements, climate change, and digitalities through experimental cartographic methods. She transferred into UC Berkeley from Berkeley City College in 2018 to complete bachelor's degrees in political science and geography. While an undergraduate, Alexis participated in various URAP projects, independent research and was a URAP Fellow in the summer of 2021. Before joining the Geography PhD program, Alexis worked in field archeology, a few different GIS roles and as a kayaking guide in the Florida Everglades.

She is a proponent for undergraduate research, exploring broadly, playful learning, thoughtful mentorship and wants to help you think about what life could be like after Cal, particularly if you're considering graduate studies.
