Career Opportunity Fund

The Berkeley Hope Scholars Career Opportunity fund was developed to support BHS Students as they become competitive applicants in their industries and paths towards graduate school. This fund is designed to provide funding for career resources and opportunities.

Due to limited funding, we cannot guarantee that all qualified applicants will receive a stipend. Funds are distributed each semester on a first-come, first-served basis to recipients until the semester's allocation is exhausted. Career resources include opportunities to advance your career through learning, work and field experience, or networking.
Career resources and opportunities can include:
  • stipends for unpaid internships and research projects (60 hours $1,250 or 120 hours $2,500)
  • fees for graduate school admissions tests and applications (e.g. GRE, MCAT, LSAT)
  • professional organization memberships (≤ $500)
  • registrations for conferences (≤ $500)
  • career attire / career clothing (≤ $500)
  • domestic flight travel for non local internships or fellowships
Note: you can not receive both course units and a stipend for your internship or research project.
Stipends are provided through your financial aid package.  You must have room through loan availability or remaining work study. See your Cal Central financial aid and scholarships awards section to verify.
